As is traditional a Trooping the Colour parade was held in Casemates Square, Gibraltar to mark the Official Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The parade was held in her honour even though she was not herself present. The parade formed part of a royal visit to Gibraltar by His Royal Highness Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex, and Her Royal Highness, the Countess of Wessex, Sophie, to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. Prince Edward took the salute at the Queen’s Birthday Parade. He was accompanied by His Excellency the Governor of Gibraltar, Vice Admiral David Steel. The Governor normally takes the salute at the Birthday Parade.

The parade is loosely based on the Trooping the Colour parade in London but it obviously on a much smaller scale.

Timings on the video are as follows:

0.00 Guard of Honour rehearses marching on to the parade ground and does a right dress in some disarray.
1.19 Guard of Honour marches off.
1.58 Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment with members of the band of the Royal Irish Regiment march on to parade playing the regimental quick march of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, Sortie, led by the Drum Major of the Royal Irish Regiment.
2.25 Guard of Honour marches on to parade.
3.02 Guard of Honour forms two ranks and dresses right.
4.18 Queen’s Colour and Regimental Colour of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment are marched onto parade. Band plays the regimental quick march and the Guard of Honour presents arms.
5.15 Band plays music whilst waiting for the arrival of the VIPs.
8.54 Royal Salute, Present Arms as Prince Edward arrives.
9.25 Band takes up position at the rear of the Guard of Honour.
10.48 Guard of Honour right turns and begins it slow march past to the regimental slow march The Keys.
12.48 Guard of Honour marches past in quick time.
13.19 General Salute, Present Arms. The Guard of Honour presents arms, the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Ensigns are marched onto parade to the accompaniment of Heart of Oak, the official march of the Royal Navy.
14.43 Guard of Honour including Colour Parties and Band advance in review order to the accompaniment of the British Grenadiers.
14.57 Royal Salute Present Arms. A 21 gun salute is fired from Grand Battery House on Line Wall Road, out of sight.
15.54 Three Cheers for Her Majesty the Queen, Hip Hip Hooray.
16.10 Return Headdress.
16.19 General Salute, Present Arms. The Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Ensigns are marched off parade to the accompaniment of the Royal Air Force March.
17.17 Royal Salute, Present Arms.
17.44 Guard of Honour marches off parade to the accompaniment of the regimental quick march of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment, Sortie, followed by the regimental quick march of the Royal Irish Regiment, Killaloe.
