Fram Ultra Synthetic at one time was a much better made filter, then Fram executives saw that it was a very popular filter and instead of continuing to improve and tweak the filter for the future they took a step back, instead they took what was great about there filter and decided to bring a new line of more expensive filters to the public. No one would notice and it has metal ends on the filtration that the public likes. That's all fine since I will personally not use these filters in my vehicles from here on in.
