As per local accounts, electricity supply was disconnected days before the demolition, and no alternative rehabilitation arrangements were provided. Thousands are now living on the streets in harsh weather conditions without access to proper shelter, sanitation, food, or medical care.

The land is reportedly planned for projects under BSWML (Bangalore Solid Waste Management Limited), including bio-methanation and waste processing units. While the land is officially government-owned, concerns have been raised regarding the lack of prior notice, rehabilitation measures, and humanitarian planning.

Reports indicate that several affected families possessed Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, PAN cards, and bank accounts, yet had limited access to government welfare schemes. Child welfare authorities have taken note of the situation, citing health risks among children displaced by the demolition.

This incident raises serious questions about urban governance, accountability, and the role of intermediaries who allegedly profited by misleading vulnerable communities.
