The full scale of the disaster caused by Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas is only just emerging, with some observers describing scenes on the ground as 'apocalyptic' and 'devastating'. Large parts of the islands are flooded, and thousands of homes have been completely destroyed. Several people have already been confirmed dead, but authorities warn the death toll is expected to rise further.
