"ON DISPLAY"

Описание: Back in August, I had the opportunity to host my first ever gallery show in Los Angeles. It was a rather spur of the moment decision.

On August 6, 2024, I decided that 19 days later, I would throw a birthday party for myself. But instead of a party, I would put on an art exhibition. The problem was, I didn't have any art to show.

Despite a busy month of work and life, I spent the next three weeks frantically creating new paintings and drawings, with the encouragement of loved ones and friends. But I also had to find a space, make invites, plan the event.

As the days ticked by, I finished the pieces one by one. Though I had originally hoped to show 24 in honor of my 24th birthday, I ended up with 19. I'm not sure we could have fit any more on the walls, anyway.

The show, titled "ON DISPLAY," focused on objects of importance in my own life. A mug from my grandfather. Hotel stationery I obsessively collect. The Dala horse my mother gave me.

Thanks to my friends at Hollywood Classic Cars who generously hosted the event in their lovely space, I was able to fulfill a childhood dream of putting on an art show for my work.

The event was a huge success, a one-day-only gallery with friends. And the first time I'd ever seen my work on pristine white walls. Thank you to everyone who came out to support me. Thanks to those who bought pieces to bring into your own homes, it is a great honor. And thank you especially to Ryan Schwaar, Marilyn Haigh, Braxton Haugen and Liza Molnar, without whom this would not have been possible.

I walked away from that night very proud. And excited for the next show, whenever and wherever it might be.
