House On A Hill debuts with the album ”Sänd Ditt regn” (”Send Your Rain”), but is far from beginners.
The worship collective House On A Hill fronted by Johannes Karlsson (ex-Safemode) and his wife Johanna started in 2020, but both have long experience of active involvement in various worship contexts.
Johannes has previously produced the album Med lyfta händer (With Lifted Hands) by Simeon Thelander and Samuel Lundell, which was released in Adora's low-key worship series Gemenskap (Community) and the couple are both involved in the worship team in their church, Korskyrkan in Östervåla, Sweden.
In 2020, the debut single Trofast Gud (Faithful God) was released digitally to point to our mighty Creator, who holds everything in his hand, even though the world is currently shaking.
This firm certainty is a recurring theme in the songs on the new album. All songs are self-written worship songs in both Swedish and English, but the album also contains a cover of Brenton Brown's Everlasting God, a version that Brenton himself expressed that he likes.
Musically, it is about modern worship with rock influences based on acoustic guitar, which makes many of the songs easy to pick up for churches and prayer groups.
– Worship is the foundation of our lives and everything has its start there. We believe that God is preparing great things for our country but maybe in a new and different way, and worship always paves the way and prepares us for what God wants to do. Our longing is to see God's Spirit lead us in a new way and that our lives should be a song of praise to God, and with that starting point, the record has come into being. says Johannes and Johanna themselves about the album.
Sänd Ditt regn (Send Your Rain) will be released by the record company Adora 28 May.
