Col Shailendra Singh: I condemn terrorism in both India and Pakistan

Описание: Colonel (Dr.) Shailendra Singh is a proud alumnus of Kendriya Vidyalaya and a graduate of Kotshera House, Shimla. A talented athlete in his youth, he was a Junior National Footballer and served as his school’s captain.

He joined the Indian Army through direct entry at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Madras, and was commissioned into the Artillery in 1987. Over the next two decades, he served in Light, Field, and Medium Bofors Regiments. His distinguished military career included 14 years of counter-insurgency experience and a tenure as ADC in Srinagar. He also served as a Staff Officer at the Vice Chief’s Secretariat, Army Headquarters. He retired in 2008.

An accomplished professional and articulate speaker, Col Singh has appeared in live debates on 13 Indian national television channels and 7 Pakistani channels as an international affairs analyst.
In recognition of his contributions, he became the first defense officer to receive the TIIFA Award (Mumbai, 2018), followed by the 21st Rajiv Gandhi Global Excellence Award (2020) and the Nelson Mandela Peace Award (2021).

He also serves on the board of directors of a university and was actively involved as a frontline Corona Warrior during the COVID-19 pandemic, dedicating himself entirely to humanitarian work.

Shakil Chaudhary is a journalist, author, and researcher. He is an alumnus of Government College, Lahore. He later studied International Relations at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, and Media and Communications at the London School of Economics.

Over the years, he has worked for several leading English-language newspapers and a few other organizations. He is the author of the critically acclaimed bilingual book Handbook of Functional English (Ferozsons), designed to help South Asians improve their English language skills.

He is a founding member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) and served as President of the Progressive Writers' Association, Islamabad, from 2021 to 2022. He has attended Rotary’s annual conventions in Toronto and Hamburg.
