Poland's prime minister Donald Tusk has warned the incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace brings "us all closer to open conflict, closer than ever since World War II."
Speaking in Poland's parliament, Tusk said: "I have no reason to claim we're on the brink of war, but a line has been crossed, and it's incomparably more dangerous than before."
Polish airspace has been violated many times since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, but never on this scale in Poland or anywhere else in NATO territory.
“There is no doubt that from Poland’s point of view, this provocation is incomparably more dangerous than all previous ones,” Tusk said.
