As a Fmr. Commissioner on the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, he helpedmonitor violations of religious liberty and advises U.S. policymakers on how to defend this foundational human right around the world.

He has testified before Congress, engaged officials in the White House, State Department, and Capitol Hill, and regularly briefs leaders in government, media, and the church on trends in religious repression and violent extremism.
