The Israeli military has confirmed its first official death toll since the war began on October 7, 2023, reporting that 891 Israeli soldiers and officers have been killed. This marks the highest military casualty count for Israel since the 1973 Yom Kippur War. In the decade preceding the conflict, only 152 Israeli soldiers lost their lives, including during Operation Protective Edge in 2014. Additionally, 28 Israeli troops, including 16 reservists, have committed suicide, the highest toll in 13 years.
