Historically Accurate Corpse Bride??????

Описание: I was planning my Halloween content and before I started I said I was not going to do a face paint cosplay . . . and then I watched the Corpse Bride again and did it anyway.

WHY The Corpse Bride? I started watching the movie and kept thinking "ok? But what if Emily was wearing a historical wedding dress?"

Let's assume based on Victoria's sleeves the film takes place in 1890 and Emily has been under the tree for “8 or 9 years”. Based on that we can pinpoint Emily’s wedding Dress as being late 70s / Early 80s which means BUSTLE TIME.

I started off by making a plain Victorian dress using my favorite easy to use patterns with a few alterations to look closer to what I imagined:

A HUGE thanks to my mom for helping me with this project. I’ve never painted anything like this and since my mom use to be a commercial artist it was a cool learning experience to have!

I still think the makeup turned out rubbish but I wound up having an allergic reaction and had to cheat my way into making a blue face paint that didn’t cause a rash. Lesson learned: I don’t look good as a blueberry.

Small note about the filming location: The best part of living rurally is that you can always ask around and someone will know someone that has a family graveyard and is excited to let you in the gate to shoot photos and videos. Everything was done respectfully, the concept was explained fully, and done with full permission.
