Grinstein, Ex-INRD, and Two NS Heritage Units in Meet of BNSF Coal Trains

Описание: On January 14, 2017, an eastbound BNSF coal train slowly tops a hill as it makes its way through Agency, Iowa. Just east of town, the coal drag meets an empty westbound coal train. This second freight train has eight locomotives leading it. Only the first two are BNSF units with the rest all being from the Norfolk Southern Railway. But there are still three other railroads represented in these six.

Behind the BNSF Gevo leading is an Executive MAC, also known as a Grinstein, painted in the green and cream scheme of the Burlington Northern Railroad. Next is the heritage unit for the first Norfolk Southern Railway. Then there is a SD70ACU. I've seen this engine once before in 2013, but then it was a Union Pacific SD9043MAC:    • Union Pacific manifest comes off the Jewel...  . Fifth in line is a SD9043MAC that use to run on the Indiana Rail Road. After a NS ACe and another Gevo, the last locomotive is the Central of Georgia heritage unit.

This is the first time I've seen both of these heritage units. Overall, they are the ninth and tenth NS heritage units I've seen which puts me at the halfway point. Also, this is the first time I've seen any engine painted for the Indiana Rail Road.

The symbol for the westbound train is E-CNMBTM-001A. It means this is an empty train (E) from Monroe, Michigan on the Norfolk Southern (CNM) heading to Black Thunder Mine in Wyoming (BTM).
