Leaders unite to curb domestic violence after five homicides in two months

Описание: Kent County community leaders, prosecutors and advocates came together at the YWCA in downtown Grand Rapids Thursday to discuss solutions to stopping domestic violence.

"In the last several years the cases have just definitely risen to a level," Adrienne Jacobusse, high risk team coordinator with Safe Haven Ministries said. "Strangulation is at an all time high, gun threats are at an all time high."

During the panel, Jacobusse said more people are coming to their nonprofit seeking help leaving a dangerous relationship because of barriers that often stand in the way.
