To achieve windtightness, Roman Szypura applied a self-adhesive breather membrane, Solitex Adhero, to the exterior structure of his Passive House. Timber battens were then installed over the membrane, creating a ventilated gap between it and the external cladding. As a belt and braces approach, Roman then used Tescon Naideck, a weathertight nail-sealing tape, behind the battens to ensure a complete watertight seal. Niall Crosson talks us through the process.
