Simone Arianne Biles Owens is an American artistic gymnast. Her nine Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals make her the most decorated gymnast in history, and she is widely considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. With nine Olympic medals, she is the fifth-most decorated female Olympic gymnast, and has the most Olympic medals earned by a U.S. gymnast. In 2019, Biles broke the record for most World Championship medals in gymnastics; she won her 24th and 25th medals at the event. In April 2024, Biles was awarded her fourth career Laureus World Sports Award in the category of Comeback of the Year. In July 2024 she was awarded the Best Comeback Athlete ESPY Award. At the Olympic trials, Biles placed first in the all-around, second on uneven bars, fourth on balance beam, and first on floor exercise. Biles became the fourth American female artistic gymnast to compete at three Olympic Games. She led Team USA to the gold medal in the team event. Biles also won the all-around title at the 2024 Olympics.
