Restoring beta elements of this level took a lot of internet diving but it was fun.
Using reference photos/videos from early development, I was able to restore the original appearance of the beta tower tileset which can still be found in the game files (specifically in the ice tower tileset). Using these references I was also able to recreate the beta gameplay of the level as accurately as possible. As of the tower blocks, I was able to restore their original color by removing their brown color and fixing the lighting on the model.
I’ve been working on a NSMBW beta restoration mod so look forward to that :)
