Towards the end of my last video I briefly talked about the paycheck PPP and EIDL funding being replenished and the president will likely sign off on this before the weekend. This means that the SBA will be opening applications again for you to get access to these funds. So before we go into detail I want to clear up two large misconceptions specifically about the EIDL program. First, you do not need to have some large established operation in order to qualify for this money.

The CARES Act that was passed back on March 27th which included the first round of funding specifically States that this money includes independent contractors, small businesses, and even gig and freelance workers. This means that even if you are just a sole proprietorship meaning you have no employees, you likely still will qualify for this money since the EIDL is currently giving grants of $1,000 per employee. This means that any type of side hustle including something like driving Uber would qualify you since you yourself are your own employee.

Since the money went so fast, the grant amount has now been clarified to be a $10,000 maximum broken down into $1,000 per employee. But what is an employee? Well by definition it is a person employed for wages or salary but again don't think that this means you need to have someone working directly for you per se. This could include any individual who added value to your side hustle or business in a substantial way and received monetary compensation in return for that service. So say you and your spouse run a small side Hustle from your home then if your ability to generate income was affected in any way by the current pandemic then not only are you eligible for a $1,000 grant but your spouse is also eligible for an additional $1,000.

Okay so all of that is great but how do you actually go about getting this money. Well like I said the senate passed this unanimously and the house just signed it yesterday meaning that the president will probably sign it into law before the weekend so if I had to guess I would say the Small Business Association EIDL application will be open again by Sunday or Monday. I will leave a link to the exact portal down in the description so be sure to star that or bookmark and refresh it every now and then so you know exactly when that page goes live.

I know this was a shorter video than usual but I wanted to get this info to you as soon as possible since the EIDL application could go live anytime.
