Bull Run is one of my all-time favorite creeks. It's short, but steeper than almost anything else. The premier rapid is "The Matador", a series of 4 ledges into a 20-25 ft waterfall. This drop is my favorite rapid I've ever run, as it's not just a drop you send off of, it's technical like a puzzle and you have to line everything up perfectly to be rewarded. The consequences are severe though, as you could get pinned or fall onto a dry rock and that would really hurt. This day was a really low water day and I would've liked just a bit more water, but I'll take what I can get. We portaged Blind Betty due to some bad wood and it being low, and portaged Longshot because it was definitely too low. I hope you enjoy this video of one of West Virginia's steepest mank piles!
