More alligators in the Brazos, TPWD says, what to do if you spot a gator

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department reports about a half-dozen of young, small alligators are located in the Brazos River in Waco, and, as the water activities increase during the summer time, the department says there is not a threat to public safety at this time.
“A lot of it just boils down to common sense,” Jonathan Warner, Alligator Program Leader with TPWD, said. “If you’re not used to living around alligators, that may not be intuitive. We just encourage folks, don’t approach them. If you find yourself near a wild alligator, free, swimming or on the bank...just slowly back away.”
