Day 20.
We head deeper into Morocco.
Today’s destination: Midelt, on the edge of the Atlas Mountains — a gateway to wider terrain and longer horizons.
The road begins to stretch.
Villages become sparse.
The color palette shifts to earth, stone, and sky.
By the time we reach camp, it’s different from anything before. A desert camp. No hotel walls. No city lights. Just open space and cold evening air.
The Budapest–Bamako Rally starts to feel vast here. Not because of speed — but because of scale.
This is the beginning of real distance.
Midelt is not the destination.
It’s the threshold.
This is Day 20.
The interior opens.
