Shehla Rashid is an author, speaker and academic with research interests in technology and politics. She is also a tech policy consultant, offering expertise on policy matters related to emerging technologies like AI. One of the most prominent youth figures in Indian politics with keen a patriotic interest, she advocates for an economically, and inclusive society which is self-sustaining and capable - a Viksit and Atma Nirbhar Bharat. Shehla is the former vice-president of the JNU Students’ Union (JNUSU) and the first Kashmiri woman to be elected to the position. She cares deeply about the condition of Indian youth, particularly women, Muslims and differently-abled in the society, and hopes to bring a change through her initiatives, such as skill development programmes for youth, promoting para-sports, and writing about neurodivergence. She is a youth icon of India, who aspires to see India as a self-sustainable global leader.
