Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) has a satellite terminal, known as SAT-1, which opened in late 2023. The SAT-1 terminal is designed to handle international flights and increase the airport's overall capacity. The SAT-1 terminal is a key part of Suvarnabhumi Airport's expansion plans, which aim to increase the airport's capacity to handle a greater number of passengers each year.
Location and Connection:
The SAT-1 terminal is a separate building from the main terminal.
It is connected to the main terminal by an underground tunnel.
An Automated People Mover (APM), a driverless electric train, transports passengers between the two terminals. The journey takes approximately 3 minutes.
