Protest erupted in Ranchi after Friday prayers on 10 June against the controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad made by suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma and expelled leader Naveen Jindal. Two people died and several others sustained injuries as the protest turned violent. Internet services that were suspended following the protest have now been restored. Jharkhand Congress President, Rajesh Thakur, said, "How can trust the validity of the CCTV footage?
Meanwhile, Imat-E-Member said, it is our appeal that innocents should not be arrested. But those whose fault it is should be arrested."
