My E-bikes are 76lbs each without the battery! That equates to over 150lbs for our 2 e-bikes. I am not a fan of any of the trailer hitch bike racks for several reasons. Also the fact that even the $1000+ hitch bike racks have a considerable amount of movement of the bikes while driving and the bikes are mounted on the rack very close together…
So… I designed an “in the truck bed” solution using the QR3 bike rack and Tailgate Boss from Ride88 along with the cam lock straps from TorkStraps. Very solid and secure!
