Soul Calibur 2 (JPN) [PS2] - play as Assassin

Assassin is a character who appears in Weapon Master mode often as a CPU opponent. He cannot be unlocked to play as in the PS2 Japanese version of SC2, BUT you do get to play as him in certain missions in Weapon Master mode. Therefore technically he is a playable character, but also a non-unlockable and non-selectable character. (are you with me?)

===== About Assassin =====
Assassin is a generic "secondary" character in the game, which means that he does not have a profile nor any story or interaction elements. His role is to just be a CPU opponent for the other characters to duel against.

Assassin's fighting style is clearly based on Hwang Sung Kyung (who is not in this game)... he even has the neutral stance of SC1 Hwang, as well as roughly the same height and build. As well as being a clone of Hwang, he also has some of Yungsung's moves as well.

===== Additional Information =====

---- When playing as him in the Arcade modes, you can only get up to Stage 6. After you complete this stage, the game will freeze. This is because he has no Destined Battle storyline/opponent programmed in.

---- If you go into his Command List (it's not locked in the other modes), it just shows some symbols that does not make sense. If you select to demonstrate them, they are just basic moves and some throws.

---- He appears and operates perfectly on the character select screen despite being a non-selectable character. It's almost as if he was intended to be a selectable character.

---- He has a total of 6 costumes/colours. Because he is a non-selectable character, he doesn't have an icon box on the character select screen. This means that you can only choose up to 3 costumes with him (providing that you highlight a regular character with 3 costumes).

---- His name appears perfectly on the character select screen and VS screens.

---- In the Character Ending and Exhibition Theater modes, selecting Assassin will lock the game.

---- He has 2 pre-fight intro sequences.

---- The "random characters" Charade and Inferno cannot mimic Assassin.

---- His weapon is called the Assassin Blade.

---- He is not Hwang Sung Kyung in disguise.

===== About Soul Calibur II =====
Soul Calibur 2 is one of the best weapon-based 3D fighters of all time. The graphics are of course nowhere near as good as SC4 or SC5, but what makes SC2 great is that it's probably got the most "balanced" and "simple-but-deep" gameplay out of the series. It also caters to single players as there are a healthy amount of unlockables to discover as well in the console ports.
