This episode begins an exploration of The Unheld Child as an archetypal root to the many secondary shadow archetypes such as The Invisible Child.
Being unheld doesn't always mean obvious abuse.
Often, it forms in environments where emotional holding was inconsistent, absent, or unreliable—where a child's feelings weren't regularly met, mirrored, or regulated.
Today, we focus on how the root forms:
• what emotional attunement is
• why children cannot regulate alone
• how meaning-making happens before language
• why children personalize absence
• how beliefs develop
• why these beliefs feel like identity instead of thoughts
This isn't a diagnosis.
It's not a reason to blame.
It's not an excuse to live in pain.
You're not being asked to fix or change anything.
It's an invitation to understand what formed—and why it made sense.
