Not sure where you are going wrong in your Medical Job Interview?
Let's talk.
You see, the hospital doesn't have a problem with you being unable to answer a question. Instead, they are more impressed if you can demonstrate that you are comfortable with not knowing AND you know where your limitations are.
Sometimes, as I mentioned in this video, they even give you a clinical scenario to test this.
You have to understand that Australian Culture is all about being
-Confident with not knowing
-Comfortable with communicating to your team that you need help
and
-Insightful that you know where your limitations lie.
Hospitals know IMGs will struggle and need a lot of help if they get the job. So when you act like you won't have any problems in your interview, it makes the hospital not trust you.
They won't hire you if they don't trust you. (WRITE THAT DOWN)
To be very clear, Code you Australia is not about teaching you quick tricks when it comes to your interview because it won't help you start working. Instead, we will make a job interview series where we:
1. Explain all the classic mistakes IMGs make in interviews
2. Explain other factors not related to you that can affect you from being offered a role.
3. And most importantly, re-train the way you think
"we will teach you to work like an IMG but think like an Australian".
Master this, and it will be your superpower.
