With decades of expertise in wildlife conservation, environmental science, and policy-making, Prof. Kotagama has played a crucial role in biodiversity protection and sustainable development in Sri Lanka and beyond.
As the former head of the Department of Zoology at the University of Colombo, co-founder of the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka (FOGSL), and scientific advisor to the Ministry of Wildlife Resources Conservation, his work has shaped critical conservation efforts.

At SAIPC 2025, he will present “The Green Blueprint: Innovative Solutions for an Eco-Peace Agenda”, focusing on new and grassroots initiatives in creating sustainable and peaceful communities. 🌿🌏
