Описание: Background-Oriented Schlieren of a candle flame. Testing out backgrounds for use with my high-speed photo class. The technique take a still frame (unlit candle) and calculates the difference in each frame of the video. The heat changes the index of refraction in the air and bends the image from the background. No mirrors, and only a camera lens. Works best with video so the camera does not jump between frames. Imaged in the Photosciences Dept at RIT. Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY
