“Much of the animated stuff comes out of my backyard garden. I’ve had a long-term fascination with recursive forms and patterns that are emerging in nature. We started with a goal to digitally recreate these natural structures for synced visualisations for the live show. However, it became apparent there weren’t any available tools to do the job. So, in true nerd DIY fashion, I decided the only way was to create some. When we finished this track, we knew it was a perfect match for the fruits of the digital nature machine.”

‘Minimal Stuffing’ is the bands first original release in two years, and the first single from upcoming new album ‘Acid Pony’, due for release in November 2020. The new single shows a new evolution in sound, “We started out with the intention of writing a very simple and minimal track. That didn’t last long, we ended up with a bit of a long epic journey of the song with a few different sections” says Carey O’Sullivan one of the bands writing team.

“I think we’ve got to a point where we both had decent studios with all the toys we need to make what’s in our heads,“ says Paul George the other half of the bands writing team.

It has all the hallmarks of the Tijuana Cartel sound, but the trippier synthesised elements add a new and original flavour to their stock. ‘Minimal Stuffing’ is definitely a track worth losing yourself to with headphones.
