'Le Sapin' by Jean Sibelius

On Christmas Day 2023 we were driving home from church in Cheltenham and listening to Radio 3 (because we are very cultured like that 🤣). There was a pianist live in the studio - I can't quite remember who it was and even if I could I wouldn't tag him because I'm embarrassed. He performed this piece, which we listened to, spellbound, watching the beautiful views all around us - aaaaah 😍. I went home, opened a note on my phone and typed 'Advent Calendar 2024' and then put this piece at the top of the list.
It's from a set of 5 pieces by the Finnish composer, referred to as 'The Trees.' This one is number 5 - the Spruce. A tenuous link to Christmas, but I'm going with it. I think it's beautiful, and I hope you do too!
