In this episode, we will understand Section 6 & 7 of AASHTO T193-99 (2003) —
👉 Moisture-Density Relation and
👉 CBR Test Procedure (Bearing Ratio at Optimum Water Content).
This part explains how to determine the Optimum Moisture Content (OMC) and Maximum Dry Density (MDD) using T99 or T180 Compaction Test, and how to prepare CBR specimens with different compactive efforts (10, 25, 56 blows/layer).
We’ll also learn how to take moisture samples (T265 method) and how to achieve correct density range (95% to 100% of MDD) for soaked and unsoaked CBR tests.
