I’m sure a lot of fans have taken note of this, but every time Nelly is given screen time Butters is always involved somehow. Whether the boys need to take a list from her or if Nelly is making jokes about Cartman being fat to his face, Butters is present.
It also seems as though the closest to a positive moment these two have is when Nelly’s zinger for Cartman is calling him fat and Butters laughs hard at the joke: • South Park - Nelly’s Zinger For Cartman
By the way, Butters has an aunt who is also named Nellie who is very loving to him, which is quite the juxtaposition.
