Sector-58 Noida Police arrests 3 members of an active gang involved in mobile phone snatching in the NCR/Noida area and extorting money and mobile phones from couples sitting in parks; 12 snatched mobile phones, the car used in the crime, one illegal pistol, and two knives recovered.

Today, December 21, 2025, Sector-58 Noida Police, acting on local intelligence and confidential information, arrested three notorious members of an active gang involved in snatching mobile phones and extorting money from couples sitting in parks by taking their photos and threatening them, as well as targeting individuals walking alone on the streets. The arrested individuals are: 1. Ritesh son of Avnesh Kumar, 2. Gajendra Solanki son of Haridwari, and 3. Pawan alias Gundi son of Udayveer. They were apprehended near Chhota D Park, Sector-62, on the road leading to JP College. A ​​total of 12 snatched mobile phones, one Ertiga car used in the crime, one illegal pistol, and two illegal knives were recovered from their possession.

Modus Operandi:

Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the three accused, traveling in the recovered Ertiga car (registration number UP-27-CT-0349), would take photos of couples sitting in parks, blackmail them, and extort mobile phones and money. They would also target individuals walking alone at night, snatching their mobile phones and money. Further questioning revealed that the recovered mobile phones were all snatched by them. They would then sell these mobile phones in Delhi and divide the proceeds among themselves. The mobile phone recovered from accused Gajendra Solanki was snatched from a Zomato delivery boy near Sector-62, Noida on the night of December 20, 2025, regarding which FIR No. 461/25 under Section 304(2) of the BNS has been registered at Sector-58 Police Station, Noida. The accused are habitual offenders; further interrogation is being conducted to gather information about other incidents and their criminal history.

1. Ritesh, son of Avnesh Kumar, resident of Village Kadar Dadpur alias Lilthara, Police Station Kanth, District Shahjahanpur, age 21 years.
2. Gajendra Solanki, son of Haridwari, resident of Deepak Vihar, Khoda Colony, Police Station Khoda, District Ghaziabad, original address Village Deeppur, Police Station Sahawan, District Kasganj, age 35 years.
3. Pawan alias Gundi, son of Udayveer, resident of Village Thakurain Maheshpura, Police Station Subhash Nagar, District Bareilly, current address opposite LIC Building, Police Station Khoda, District Ghaziabad, age 30 years.
