Geoff from http://geoffmobile.com shares a quick tip to create your own Wind Screen eliminate or reduce wind noise when recording videos on a point and shoot camera.
Please subscribe :) / geoffmobile thank you!!!!
To prevent the wind from hitting the microphone, I attach a piece of fake fur fabric to the microphone area using Stickytack (Removable adhesive). Be sure to avoid blocking the microphone holes with the stickytack.
You will need:
-Camera with built in microphone (this works with Canon SLR cameras too! I also did it for my T2i)
-Scissors
-Fake fur fabric (from fabric store)
-Stickytack removable adhesive (get a good brand - the stickier the better :)
Instructions (as shown in video):
-Cut out a piece of fake fur fabric to fit over the microphone holes
-Take a piece of stickytack and roll it into a snake.
-Put the stickytack onto the camera around the microphone holes (but be sure not to block the holes)
-Put the fake fur fabric piece onto the camera so that it sticks to the stickytack and covers the microphone holes (the sound will still travel through the fabric, but the wind will not!)
-You're done! Try it out in the wind outside :)
