The Backdoor Bois were huge in the early 2000s and their influence over young people was tremendous. It was decided by their management team that they'd be great spokesmen to combat the childhood obesity epidemic. And the best way to do that (they believed) was through shame. Constant and brutal shame. Hence the cover of "Tripping Fat Kids at the YMCA." "We didn't really think this through," former Backdoor Boi, Fazz Juan (real name: Carlos Sanchez), told the Hip Parader web-site. "Apparently, shaming and making fun of fat people is now frowned on. Who knew?" The mistake was the first step in the Backdoor Bois downfall. "To make matters worse, most of our fanbase was young, fat chicks. That was kind of a rough point in our career. But it wasn't really over until a few years later when they all figured out that we're [the Backdoor Bois] all gay as hell."
