For most of these projects, you will need some scrap wood, screws, a few hand tools and the type of hooks that you prefer. I will place some links to different types of hooks in the description below.

4. This awesome tie rack can be easily made with a piece of scrap wood cut in the appropriate shape with a hole for hanging at the top. Paint or stain your wood at the end to get a high-end look at the perfect price of free.

6. These are not only adorable, but easy to make. Be sure when creating your template for the bird cutouts, the back of the tail is completely flat to attach straight to the wall with some command strips. You can paint or stain your birds any way you like.

9. These are easily made with a small piece of scrap wood and one hook of your choice. The hook being mounted to the wood will give your hook more hanging strength, as long as the wood is attached securely to the wall.

11. Do you have some old drawer knobs? Grab them and use as a coat rack hook. Attach the knobs to the wood in the same fashion you would attach a knob to a drawer with the proper screw, and tightening all the way. This rack looks classic with a nicely stained piece of wood as the base.
