A local criminal attorney explained why charges could have been dropped against the driver accused of hitting and killing a baby in a stroller.
On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Pima County deputies responded to the scene near Ruthrauff Road and Kain Avenue and found 11-month-old Miracle Mae in critical condition.
34-year-old Marquise Reese was walking in the area while pushing Miracle Mae, who died at a local hospital.
According to the PCSD, 32-year-old Colton Frank Ortiz was originally facing charges of manslaughter, aggravated assault, and aggravated DUI. But the Pima County Attorney’s Office said those charges have been dropped.
