Allison shares: "My Viticulture and Wine Marketing field trip to Castello Nipozzano at the Frescobaldi estate was an amazing way to see how a real family run wine business operates. Since Frescobaldi is my professor’s family, we got a firsthand look at how they’ve been making wine for generations.

We started with a tour of the estate, learning about the winemaking process; from growing the grapes to fermenting, aging, and finally bottling the wine. We also talked about how they sell and market their wines, which was really interesting to see in action. Walking through the historic estate, we got a sense of the family's long history in the wine industry and how they’ve kept their traditions alive while also adapting to modern times.

The trip ended with a wine tasting and pairing, where we got to try different wines and see how they complement different foods. It was a great way to connect what we’ve learned in class to a real-world business while also experiencing the passion and dedication behind Italian winemaking."
