God created us to be in a loving relationship with Him, but our sin separates us from Him (Romans 3:23). Sin brings spiritual death and brokenness, but God, in His great love, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for our sins through His death on the cross (John 3:16, Romans 5:8). Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin and death, and offering us new life in Him (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

When we turn from our sins and trust Jesus as our Savior, we are forgiven, and we become children of God, united with Him forever (Acts 3:19, Ephesians 2:8-9). This gift of salvation is free—by faith, not by works—and brings us into a new, eternal relationship with God (John 1:12).
