He begins by explaining the scope of God’s promises, meaning who the promise is meant for. Some promises are general, such as the assurance found in Gospel of Matthew 28:20 where Jesus promises to be with us always. Others are specific, like God’s promise to Abraham in the Book of Genesis 17:4–5. There are also personal promises that God speaks directly into the life of an individual. Because of this, believers must be careful not to take promises out of context or assume every promise applies to every situation.

The message also highlights the conditions of God’s promises. Some promises are conditional and require our response and cooperation with God, such as in the Second Book of Chronicles 7:14 and Gospel of Matthew 7:7. Others are unconditional and depend entirely on God’s faithfulness, like the promise God made after the flood in the Book of Genesis 9:11.

Another important aspect discussed is the duration of God’s promises. Some promises are temporal, meaning they are meant for a specific season or period of time, while others are everlasting and remain forever.

As believers, it is important to listen carefully to what God is saying to us and understand how His promises apply to our lives.

God’s promise for us this year is gaining new territories.
