This is the third video I filmed during the 2025 Summer Diesel Day at the Downpatrick & County Down Railway, organised by the Irish Traction Group.
We were all invited to walk down to the path that runs alongside the railway line just outside of Downpatrick, as there were a number of runpasts arranged for us to photograph / film.
The second of these runpasts was Northern Ireland Railways 450 Class 'Thumper' D.E.M.U. 458/788 'Antrim Castle', which was built in 1987 and withdrawn from mainline passenger services in 2012. It is still wearing the Translink N.I. Railways blue & silver livery nicknamed the 'Red Bull' livery, albeit without any Translink branding.
