In this video, I discuss Babar Azam’s performance in his ninth match of the tournament, where once again he failed to make a big impact on team. Babar Azam scored 47 runs off 39 balls with the help of seven fours, but his innings lacked intent and strike rate. On the other hand, his batting partner played a completely different kind of innings, scoring a brilliant century off just 42 balls, including five fours and nine sixes. This comparison makes it clear that Babar Azam’s tournament has been disappointing so far and looks almost like another failed campaign.
I also talk about Mitch Starc (after 14 years playing a BBL match), who delivered an outstanding bowling performance for Babar Azam’s team. He conceded only 31 runs in his four overs and picked up one wicket. His pace was impressive, consistently bowling at speeds of 135, 140, 145, and even 142 km/h in his spell. Mitch Starc’s fast and aggressive bowling showed how effective pace with intent can be.
This raises an important question: if a bowler like Mitch Starc can bowl with such speed and discipline, then why can’t Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah do the same consistently?
