On the November 6 segment of The Steve Finnegan Show on Newsradio 102.9 KARN, Opportunity Arkansas Policy Director J. Robertson discussed Arkansas’ strong financial outlook—and why taxpayers deserve relief.
J. explained that as Arkansas moves through its fiscal year (July 1–June 30), state revenue is not only stable but continuing to grow, putting Arkansas on track for a large surplus by year’s end. Even as the state has cut taxes, revenue keeps increasing.
J. highlights:
-When Arkansas collects more money than it needs, that money should go back to the taxpayers who earned it.
-Nothing the government gives is “free”—everything comes at a cost to taxpayers.
-Surpluses should not be used to grow government.
-Many Arkansans feel overtaxed, and they’re right. Opportunity Arkansas is working to change that.
