Triumph has obliged the Trident 660 roadster and Tiger Sport 660 with substantial upgrades for 2026. The revised inline-triple engine has a higher peak output rising to 94bhp at 11,250rpm and 68Nm at 8,250rpm. Redline has now climbed up to 12,650rpm for more oomph at higher revs. There is a wider and more usable torque spread with 80% of peak torque available from 3,000rpm to nearly 12,000rpm. Engineers have moved from a single throttle body to three individual 44mm throttle bodies, one per cylinder, and paired that with a larger front-mounted airbox to improve airflow and induction sound. The cylinder head has been reworked with larger exhaust valves and a higher-lift cam profile. Cooling system is upgraded with a larger repositioned radiator and fan. The exhaust now has a 3-into-1 header with a revised catalyst and an underslung silencer improving power output and its aural appeal as well. Even the gearbox is updated with new shafts, revised ratios and a recalibrated shift-assist strategy for sharper performance at the peak. On the 2026 Trident 660, the chassis rework is more important as it addresses ride quality and is set-up for more flexibility. Triumph says the bike gets a revised frame and a new Showa rear suspension unit with preload and rebound adjustment with Showa 41mm USD big piston forks up front (120mm travel). At a claimed 195kg wet weight, 810mm seat height and a 14-litre tank, the new Trident 660 will enhance ease of use for riders. Tiger Sport 660 on the other hand with its sport-touring appeal leans harder into wider exploration promise for its riders. A larger 18.6-litre fuel tank to go further, revised bodywork including new radiator cowls to improve comfort and weather protection. Suspension has 150mm travel at both ends is a step up for touring practicality. The rear monoshock offers remote hydraulic preload adjustment for switching between solo use and riding with luggage. Its wet weight is 211kg and the seat is 835mm high. The windscreen is designed to be adjusted one-handed between two height positions. Both motorcycles use ride-by-wire with Sport, Road and Rain modes, and a six-axis IMU for cornering ABS and cornering traction control. Cruise control and MyTriumph Connectivity (navigation, music and calls) come as standard fitment with a combined TFT colour screen and LCD layout for legibility while riding. No confirmation yet of Indian availability for these 2026 updates. The power bump and wider spread of torque should help on our highways and hilly roads, while the stronger electronics package and practical touring add-ons on the Tiger Sport 660 fit a segment that has matured. While the Trident 660 will feel even more rakish as a Streetfighter in a relatively competent segment.
