How much Gold is in the BIGGEST "Solid Gold" Watch Made by Rolex?!

Описание: Our solid gold series continues with the Yacht-Master II, the biggest gold watch Rolex actually makes!

During our last video (   • How much Gold is ACTUALLY in a "Solid Gold...  ), we took a look at a Day-Date 40 from the brand and came up with a gold content of 20%. But that's a 40-millimeter watch, while the Yacht-Master II boasts a whopping 44mm, a world of a difference. As of the date we recorded this video, the yellow gold YMII (reference 116688) was going for around $40,000 in the pre-owned market, while the price of gold was near $1811 a troy ounce, which is equivalent to approximately $58.24 a gram.

On the video, our go-to watchmaker, Chrono Sky (Instagram link below), takes the watch apart and sets the pieces on a calibrated scale to weigh them.

Please note that we had to make a few adjustments to our gold calculation due to the Rolex's patented Cerachrom (ceramic) bezel and the fact that the bracelet of the watch we used on the video only had 10 links, when the watch comes from factory with 11 links.
