However, one of the most intriguing elements of Priscilla is how quiet it is.

Priscilla’s life as depicted in the film contains many moments of solitude and silence, showing that her existence and identity was consumed by the star that was Elvis Presley, whether he was physically present or not. The only real indicator of what is happening with Priscilla on the inside is how she presents on the outside.

Head of the Hair, Cliona Furey, costume designer Stacey Battat, and head of makeup, Jo-Ann McNeil aided by their teams worked together to depict the 13 year transformation of Priscilla Beaulieu into Priscilla Presley.

In Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, when her words fail or are stifled, wardrobe, hair, and makeup speak.
