I’ve talked a lot about Fallout 4’s quests — the main faction quests, story quests, and even the ending quests. But one thing I realized I’ve never really focused on is Fallout 4’s side quests. So, in this video, I wanted to take a deep dive into Fallout 4’s side quests and see how good they really are. As the title of this video suggests, you can probably guess what I think of them. Side quests are very important. They help the player explore the map in a unique way, learn more about the game's story and lore, and get a better feel for the gameplay. They also offer nice rewards, which motivate players to keep playing and doing more side quests. In Fallout — and many of Bethesda’s games, for that matter — side quests are often used to show off a more wacky side of the game, with funny situations, comical characters, and unique gameplay experiences. However, I’ve noticed that while Fallout 4 does have some funny and memorable side quests, they aren’t quite as good as the side quests from earlier Fallout games like Fallout: New Vegas. So in this video, I want to explain why I think Fallout 4’s side quests aren’t very good and how they could have been improved.
