Today I’m sharing a creamy, comforting Tomato Ricotta & Pesto Sauce — an easy Italian‑style pasta sauce made with pantry staples and ready in minutes. It’s the perfect weeknight recipe when you want something cozy, simple, and full of homemade flavour.
This sauce is silky from the ricotta, bright from the tomatoes, and beautifully aromatic with a spoonful of basil pesto. Toss it with your favourite pasta and you’ve got a dish that feels like home. I used orecchiette Baresi shaped. Regardless which shape of pasta you'll choice the tomato and ricotta sauce will be your favourite.

1/4 cup of good Italian olive oil
1 small onion, finely chopped
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
150 g of cherry tomatoes
1-2 tablespoons basil pesto
400 g Ricotta
salt and pepper to taste
500 g of orecchiette Baresi shaped pasta
