Falls of Glomach is the third highest waterfall in UK with impressive 113m (371 ft) of single drop. It is also one of the most difficult to reach. Whole walk takes around 6 hours (12 miles/18km), but since the trail leads through amazing and varied scenery of Kintail, you don't really get tired. Bar the long distance, the walk itself is not difficult. Ascent is not steep and there are two or three places where the path is quite close to the verge of the precipice, so care is needed. The most difficult and scary bit is at the very end, when you descent the path next to the waterfall and little scramble next to the gaping and thundering chasm is needed to get to the good viewpoint. Despite the fact it was a long walk, we had tremendous fun and I put Falls of Glomach in my personal top 5 of Scottish waterfalls.
